    Abstract
Through my work with clay and plaster molds I investigated detailed surface texture, unique forms, glaze, and how perception of used objects can alter how the finished vessels are experienced. My research led me to examine how different forms of memory can impact how we view artwork, make connections, group objects, and reflect on both personal and collective memories. I was captivated by the transformation in displacing these objects from their intended environments, making them almost unrecognizable; using objects such as beads, vegetables, paper, tinfoil, mass produced ceramic wares, lampshades, and lace. My collections reflect considerable intention into the objects used and the relationship between form and function. Within various alterations of each piece, I found different relationships of materials, forms, glazes, and textures to be more successful than others. I explored layering, color theory, underglazes, functionality, and hand building. My work was made from multiple found objects, these explorations helped me to create work that was aesthetically pleasing and embodied continuous forms. I encouraged my audience to handle pieces in order to create a tactile experience and build a connection that goes deeper than artist and spectator.
