The Image of Reality: Book Illustration as Informative Art

Abstract

This program, written by Kalamazoo College student Melissa Donahue '89, was created for an A.M Todd Rare Book Room exhibit prepared by Melissa Donahue as her Senior Individualized Project. The program discusses the use of illustration to reflect the textual reality and the differences in how illustration is used by different genres and how illustration changes over time.
