Abstract
This paper is not attempting to capture the one authentic undocumented Latinx labor experience in Los Angles, instead I recognize that the choice to migrate is not an individual one. It is forced upon by state factors like foreign economic policy of the United States, and discriminatory city planning policies. Once immigrants are living in the U.S. they are further susceptible to state and city policies that enact violence through urban and industrial development that position them as inferior to whiteness. By laying out the historical political process I emphasize the role the United States government and their capitalist motivated constituents have in disciplining the bodies of undocumented Latinx laborers through strategies of domination that work to benefit the state. The capitalistic motivations of the state create international economic policies where in Los Angeles, paired with racist urban development work to ostracize undocumented Latinx from the city’s larger narrative.
