Abstract
Oncolytic viruses are viruses that are physically and genetically enhanced to target tumor cells. As oncolytic virology has held promising results in preclinical and clinical trials in helping the fight against cancer, it is crucial to fully understand the modifications. One popular oncolytic virus is Adenovirus, in which serotype modifications are directly made to the virus’ fiber used for attachment to host cells. The binding of the fiber to the penton base of the protien capsid is slightly unclear. Through the use of affine extensions to create point arrays, physical virology may have some insight to the structure of the penton base, and therefore, more insight to oncolytic function.
