dc.description.abstract | This environmental satire novella intends to provide
commentary about the importance of addressing our earth’s
current environmental crisis while we can still implement
solutions gradually. With Environmental Protection Agency
members claiming that our air is too clean, even as the skies
cloud over with smog, and the repealing of laws that prevent
waste from coal being dumped into rivers and streams, the
United States has reached a crossroads. We can choose to
protect the earth and attempt to mitigate the damage that we
have already done, or we can continue with Business As
Usual. By juxtaposing outrageous solutions and individual
characters’ social lives in a futuristic society not unlike our
own, this novella hopes to warn against both inaction and
narrow thinking that discounts cultural knowledge. | en_US |
