Abstract
1. Indigenous NGO’s: Those sites and groups that are run
specifically by those people who would be considered
descendents of the original inhabitants of Latin America.
Examples include the Defensoria Maya and the Congreso
General de la Cultura Kuna.
2. Outside NGO’s: These are any sites or groups that are run
solely by or in conjunction with organizations or groups that
are not specifically members of the indigenous tribe but
have no tie to any government. Examples include Nacion
Comuntaria Moskitia and the Conferencia Permanente de
los Pueblos Indigenas del Peru
3. Government: These are any sites or groups that are run
solely by or in conjunction with organizations or groups that
are not members of the indigenous tribe and do have ties to
a specific government. Examples include Comision
Takachiualis A.C. and Centro de Derechos Humanos “Los
Principes” A.C.
