Started in 1978, WIG was formed to be a support group for people on campus who wanted and needed to discuss the issues concerning women and womanhood. WIG held weekly meetings, organized symposiums, hosted an annual GLCA Student Women’s Studies Conference and hosted lectures from speakers who held talks about different women’s issues and topics. Archival records show that WIG existed until 1986.
