The history of any church is closely intertwined with the history of the community of which it is a part. The problems affecting the community also seriously influence the church, composed ot members of that community. In viewing the history of the First Baptist Church of Chicago it will be necessary to see the influence of housing, financial conditions, and other urban problems on the development of the Church.
