Undemocratic Marketing : How to Stop Electoral Campaigns from Advocating for Voter Suppression
MetadataShow full item record
This SIP focused on voter suppression, an issue that threatens fair and free political elections in American democracy today. The goals of this SIP were twofold: the first objective was to research what experts have already said about the business of conducting elections, what voter suppression is, and what political parties or groups benefit from the practice of endorsing and implementing suppressive polices. The second objective was to answer the question: what can be done to prevent electoral campaigns from advocating for voter suppression? Ultimately, this Senior Thesis delved into two types of voter suppression, restrictive voting laws and gerrymandering, and recommended various solutions to the problem of political campaigns and candidates advocating in favor of these suppressive polices and tactics.
