To Be : an Exploration of Vulnerability and Our Connections

Human interaction and connection are essential to our survival, yet we all carry our unique perspectives. People are interconnected in many ways that go unnoticed. We impact each other's lives one way or another. Inspired by literature read in my college courses, my work explores themes of human relations and vulnerability. Through my series of five mixed media installation works, I explore vulnerability and our relationships with others in this world. My final project is made up of found objects, photographs, textiles, and picture frames. The works can exist on their own or together, representing a specific feeling or emotion through its monochromatic colors. I deconstruct the objects' use and purpose to create a new space and meaning. Ultimately the series explores the concept of being vulnerable, such as me being vulnerable through my work. I continue to discover how our lives and relationships change when we are vulnerable.
