dc.description.abstract | A portrait photo of Elsie (Hinckley) Heyl, the wife of Frederick W. Heyl who sponsored the F.W. and Elsie L. Heyl Science Scholarship fund. According to a 1971 press release about the new scholarship fund, the Elsie L. Heyl scholarship was meant for nursing students. A 1981 article in Bronson Hospital's Catalyst magazine stated that Elsie Heyl was impressed by the care she received by Bronson's nurses during two hospital stays and the scholarship was offered in appreciation of this skilled care. | en_US |
