    Abstract
Four members of the Black Student Organization (BSO) walk down the steps of Mandelle Hall after receiving from the college administration a written response to their demands. Three of the four students are identified. From left to right: unidentified student (possibly Jerry Weaver), Emmet Deans, Herb Lindsay, and Tom Seavers.

One of the demands of the BSO regarded course offerings at the college. They requested classes such as Racism in Culture and Internal Colonialism; Afro-American Novel; Black History Seminar; Plays and Poetry of Black America, The Black Psyche, and The Music of Blackness.
