James Baldwin Leads an Informal Discussion
James Baldwin, novelist and activist, was a guest on Kalamazoo College's campus in November 1960 as part of a special lecture series on "The Goals of the American Society." The title of Baldwin's lecture at Stetson Chapel on November 21, 1960 was advertised as "Minority Rights" in the October 1960 alumni magazine. His address would later be published as "In Search of a Majority." In this photograph, Baldwin leads an informal discussion with students.
