Analysis of Mock Trial Data to Find the Perfect Juror
Abstract
My analysis is based on a mock trial conducted for Ven Johnson Law emulating an active case. The process began with arguments by the plaintiff, each of the defendants, followed by a rebuttal by the plaintiff. Jurors were then given questionnaires to gauge their commitment to the plaintiff, attribution of fault to each party and the amount of economic and non-economic damages. In order to inform the voir dire process, I organized the data by demographics. These demographics are gender, education, age and marital status. The goal is to find the specific demographic of the theoretical juror that would benefit the plaintiff, as Johnson Law is a plaintiff firm.
