Growth and Characterization of Fe-Se-Te Superconducting Materials
Abstract
Iron-based superconductors are a family of high temperature superconductors which are not explained by the standard BCS theory. We have synthesized Fe-Se-Te single crystals via AlCl3 and KCl flux under a temperature gradient. Materials were found to be approximately FeSe0.49Te0.49 from initial magnetization and powder x-ray diffraction measurements. The crystals were characterized using resistivity measurements taken by a Physical Property Measurement System from 1.2 K to 300 K with a variety of different applied magnetic fields. This data can be used to characterize the vortex behavior of magnetic vortices in FeSeTe.
