Abstract
The author describes the inspiration for her collection of poem:, “for my Senior Individualized Project (SIP), I reached out to five Nepali women writers, Bartika Eam Rai, Bhrikuti Rai, Shradha Ghale, Ujjwala Maharjan and Yukta Bajracharya, whose writings have impacted me as a woman as well as a writer. I interviewed them about their personal journeys of becoming writers, what it means to be Nepali women who write and where the future of writing is going for women in Nepal. I connected the different interactions I gathered through these interviews with my own personal experience of being a Nepali woman who writes and gave birth to these poems. I will always be grateful to these authors for letting me ask them questions about Nepali womanhood and writing for an entire hour.”
