    Abstract
This Senior Individualized Project (SIP), examines the social impacts caused by Ecuador's 1999 economic crisis (including a bank holiday) and dollarization through both an individual and community level. This SIP was inspired by the social impacts my family and I faced during the late 1990s and early 2000's. My parent's story is narrated in one of the sections of this research paper. The purpose of my research is to bring light to the fact that economic events such as: economic crises, bank holidays, and dollarization, should not only be analyzed through their economic performance. It is crucial to also analyze these economic events through a social lens in order to truly understand the impacts citizens' experienced in their own flesh. Even though, this SIP provided some literature of the social impacts of these events that occurred in Ecuador, there is still need for more research to be done on this subject.
