Breaking the Unshackled Chains
Abstract
This research follows the history of how slavery has just changed into mass incarceration over a long period of time. The U.S. Prison system is not a place to make rehabilitation possible for those who have committed a crime, but it is the exact opposite of rehabilitation. My examine the purpose of imprisonment, what it means to define integration after imprisonment, and barriers of Labour Market. As ex-cons try to reenter society they face many challenges due to the horrible challenges they face in and out of jail. The system is not set up to see them succeed so they continue to fight against a system that does not want to see change, so as the community on the outside of the system we must be the voice and the action behind this change.
