According to the 1921 Boiling Pot yearbook, "The Century Forum Literary Society derives its name from the year of its organization - 1900. The society endeavors to instill into each member a desire for development along literary lines. and to train the individual in the art of public speaking. Although forensic activity is the chief concern of the society. it also aims to help each member to get the greatest amount of good socially and intellectually from his college course."
