Abstract
Autism Spectrum Disorder is an ever growing neurobiological disorder. In fact, a recent report by Jon Baio (2014) shows that autism among children is growing at a rate of 30% percent each year. With this ever increasing population, it is crucial for clinicians, parents, family members, and educators to collaborate on finding affordable and effective means of behavioral therapy for autistic children. There are multiple forms of behavioral therapy, all of which have their own methods of teaching various life skills to autistic children. Unfortunately, most of these therapies are extremely expensive and therefore unavailable to members of society including those in more rural areas (Hamad, Serna, Morrison, & Fleming, 2010). At the Daily Behavioral Health Clinic in eastern Ohio, the researchers of this current case study sought to find a cost-effective and parent-user friendly option of behavioral therapies for an individual autistic child and his family. With the help of the internet, the researchers found and used a web-based program called ReThink Autism. We hypothesized that this online program would improve the individual's behavioral skills overtime, and that behavioral therapies online would make autistic therapy available to a wider population.
