Three public speaking treatment method commonly used in traditional and virtual reality (VR) to treat public speaking anxiety (PSA). However, these three methods, exposure therapy (ET), cognitive modification (CM), and skills training (ST), have not been directly compared in experimental conditions. Further, the effectiveness of these methods have not been compared against one another in traditional and virtual reality. In this study, 90 participants were divided into either traditional or VR versions of each of the three methods for three learning periods across three weeks. The participant's public speaking anxiety was measured using the Personal Report of Public Speaking Anxiety (PRPSA) (McCrosky 1970) before and after the three weeks. Expected results are as follows: that all methods will be effective at reducing PSA That both VR and traditional methods will be equally effective, and that in both VR and traditional settings ET will be the most effective method, followed me CM and ST respectfully.
