This research involved the question, "what happens to the preferred size range as the animals are crowded in the experimental bottles? The experiment consisted of the use of three filter-feeder i Bosmina. D. Retrocurva. and Diapt. Oregonensls. Each day six-hundred fifty animals of one species had to be picked and identified, which represents twelve animal experiments per day. Each experiment once set up requires twenty-four hours to run after which the coulter counter is used to determine what size particles are preferred as a result of varying the densities of the three major species.
