Abstract
My Senior Individualized Project (SIP) is a collection of oil paintings entitled "In Review.” The paintings are representational abstractions, translating various facets of my time as a college student into simple colors and symbols. I used a consistent limited palette throughout the project to unify the pieces through their shared colors. Even though each painting represents one particular experience, I consider them to all be parts of one larger piece. I decided to use the creation of my SIP as a reflective experience, letting me think about the many things I have done or been a part of at Kalamazoo College. The end result is intended to be viewed as a narrative, but it is one that can be colored by each viewer's own experiences.
