Abstract
Nanojars are anion specific incapsulating agent formed by self-assembly of Cu+, -OH and pyrazole. There is a demand for a new type of nanojar that can encapsulate anion in aqueous solution. Highly polar pyrazole base ligand, N-methyl-4-(1H-pyrazol-4yl) pyridine, was successfully synthesized and optimized. The ligand was characterized using 1H and 13C NMR. Each steps of synthesis of this ligand is optimized under different conditions for the highest isolated yield. Attempts to synthesize nanojar with this ligand yielded no results. Titration by substitution of this ligand shows the maximum amount of N-methyl-4-(1H-pyrazol-4yl) pyridine that can be formed on a pyrazole carbonate nanojar.
