Ninety-five percent of substance users return to prison after their release (National Association of Drug Court Professionals, 2017). Drug Treatment Courts were created in the 1970s providing immediate interventions, a non-adversarial courtroom process, a hands-on judicial role, clearly defined rules and goals, and a team of court officers and staff (Huddleston, Marlowe, & Casebolt, 2008). The purpose of the present study is to determine the extent to which the effects of social support group meetings, in context of the Kalamazoo OWI Court, have on program completion.
