dc.description.abstractChromones are non-amine natural compounds. Identified by benzoannelated y-pyrone core. Name originates from Greek word chroma, which means color. 2-(2-phenylethyl) chromones (2-PEC,2) were first isolated in1978. 2-PECs have shown activity as neuroprotectants and antimicrobials. 7-hydroxy-2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone (7-HPEC,3) is an attractive canidate as a serotonin receptor ligand.en_US
