Abstract
To advance the knowledge of this field of inquiry further, more in depth studies into the statistics of disc herniation injuries should be performed. Aside from risk factors, individual case studies, and a few randomized controlled trials, there has been no overarching study that has evaluated this injury on global prevalence, let alone any studies that have completely compiled all of the research available currently. If there were more statistics available it could lead to the development of public education programs on prevention and treatment of such an injury. Children in physical education classes in largely affected areas could be educated on risk factors for injury or the proper way to articulate your body in order to avoid injury. Another route to spreading this knowledge would be to make educational material on disc herniation readily available in some centralized form, whether that be a globally accessible website, public education programs, or even a pamphlet easily available at your local doctor's office. With more and more objective studies releasing statistics every year, the angle to approach spreading this information could be more precise and therefore reach greater numbers of affected individuals.
