    Abstract
Stress causes unwarranted tension onto all living organisms and triggers many physiological and psychological responses. An accumulation or being in a constant state of stress has detrimental effects—especially in humans. Humans who experience a large amount of stress are more susceptible to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) than those who manage it better or experience it less. NCDs are a serious health concern as it is the leading killer of the global human population. To alleviate these negative health tolls from stress, the use of the mindfulness and meditation practice is highly suggested. The human ability of fully focusing on the present moment is transformative and will carry onto every aspect of a person’s life. By mono-tasking and being aware of the present leads to a reduction of pressure in the mind and body. Mindfulness creates stability and calmness in a person’s mind, which will carry into the body. From a personal account, the mindfulness and meditation approach to stress is the easiest, cheapest, and most beneficial way for someone to address their health issues.
