    Abstract
The author describes her collection of poems as “poetic, mythic autobiography….an exploration of my spirituality and the synchronicities I have found within the Igbo Orisha tradition, and astrology… I have been influenced by goddesses having grown up in a matriarchal household. Thus, I have grown to understand and love the concept and reality of the godly feminine. So through these influences I have constructed a compilation that aims to reach truths of my conscious and unconscious mind through the bridges created through muscle memory.” She discusses the influences of the culture of her St. Vincent home, and poets Audre Lorde and Saul Williams. She describes how the metaphysical theories of Edward Bruce Bynum. “Essentially, we go through a series of cycles of life and death. In my compilation I attempt to express the moments of phase coherence I experienced in my life. The places where the terms of my space, the time, and elements of my everyday stimuli caused me to evolve into a Christ consciousness that has given me the strength to go on. To accomplish my intended aesthetic, I focused heavily on creating poems in which their shape reflects the present mode of discovery. I played out all of the poems in my series and arrange them in what felt to be the most logical and vibrational compatible order.”
