Looking through literature, clothing is an important aspect of character development. Regardless of how a character’s appearance and clothing choices are received by other character, the author knows how crucial it is to dress a character. According to the author, the same holds true in real life, whether or not we all put pride and effort and thought into what we choose to wear every single day, we pay at least some attention to how we clothe our bodies. Why is it that academically rooted, productive, interesting discussions regarding the fashion choices of women can take place within the classroom when a fictional character is the focal point, but the gravitas of fashion is depleted when the woman becomes real?
