Abstract
The centennial history of Kalamazoo College, from 1833 to 1933. From the foreword: "The Centennial History is the most extensive attempt made so far to write the history of Kalamazoo College. Several monographs have been produced dealing with the earlier periods, and one, a brief sketch by the late Dr. Ernest A. Balch, covered a part of the present administration. In the Centennial volume the authors have re-studied the entire history of the College, making more extended research than has hitherto been done and bringing the history of the institution up to date. The result is a large body of material only a part of which is here printed by reason of limited space. In proportion to the records available the history up to 1892 is treated more fully than that of the last three administrations. From that point on the material becomes more abundant and accessible as well as better known to living persons, and whereas the task in earlier periods has been to find adequate material, in the later periods it has been one of choice and emphasis."
