Letter from N.P. Barlow to Committee on Ministerial Education
Abstract
Nathan Pratt Barlow reports a sixth time to the Committee on Ministerial Education of the Michigan Baptist State Convention on his financial situation at the end of his Sophomore year at the College. He details the sources of all the money he has received during the year, and seems to include some of his expenditures as well. Notably, he has made $54.65 from working as a sexton at a church, considerably more than he received from the convention or even from the “clothes & provisions” generously provided by a church in Jackson, MI. However, he only spent eight weeks at the college instead of ten due to sickness.
