John Booth writes to T.Z.R. Jones to notify Jones of Booth’s intention to pledge a scholarship he purchase to “a young man (colour’d) by the name of Martin,” a Baptist preacher from Toledo who wishes to eventually travel to Africa as a missionary. If Martin chooses not to use Booth’s scholarship, then Booth says another minister possibly mentioned in an older letter between Jones and Booth may use it instead.en_US
