Attorneys in the case of Stone v. Torrey write to J.A.B. Stone through T.Z.R. Jones, probably between J.A.B. Stone and Dr. Erastus C. Torrey. A certain H. Chase provided the case with a note written to Stone’s wife by Dr. Torrey, and the attorneys ask Stone to provide proof of the marriage. The attorneys see little difficulty in assuring the authenticity of the note, suggesting that they are Stone’s attorneys since they are working closely with him to legitimize evidence.
