    Abstract
"Asian Wonders: Selected Chinese and Japanese artifacts from Kalamazoo College’s rare book and art collection" poster and postcard for the 2015 spring term exhibit in the A.M. Todd Rare Book Room. The exhibit ran from March 30 - June 5, 2015. Details of the artwork displayed in the marketing materials are from a 25’ horizontal scroll. The scroll is a reproduction of Huang Ruihu’s New Year Picture, “Yingchun tu” (Welcoming Spring). Huang Ruihu (1866-1938) was a folk artist of Mianzhu, Sichuan, China, one of the most famous places for the mass production of the New Year Pictures, or Nianhua. The scroll is a gift of Chengming Chen, father of Mengyang Chen, Class of 2011. Exhibit curated by Paul Smithson.
