I chose to paint for my senior project because I have a love for painting, especially oil painting. My inspiration for this series of paintings comes from a desire to improve the every-day through art. Rather than taking a political stance to deal with making changes, I just want to make people happy for at least a moment. I firmly believe that happy people are more likely to do positive things. My exhibition is simple, consisting of two large paintings of faces, and two large paintings of hands—all self portraits. As passersby glimpse the friendly facial expression and friendly gesture, I hope they might smile. The goal of this project is to pull people into the gallery for at least a quick glance around the room.en_US
