Critical Reflections: A Look at Educating for Freedom in School's Summer Youth Program

In my reflection and recommendation based SIP, I composed a series of vignettes that illustrated the various facets of Freedom School’s educational philosophy and pedagogy. I evaluated these vignettes in light of and in relationship to current literature on critical, progressive pedagogy, multicultural education, parent involvement, and social inequality in the education system. Along with my own feedback and recommendations for the site, my SIP demonstrates how EFIS is making significant interventions in the lives of the scholars it serves.
