Michigan and Mississippi
Abstract
Photography has been a passion of mine since I was young.
Throughout life, I believe everyone feels misunderstood at one
point or another, and wishes others could see things they way
they do. This feeling is what fueled my passion for capturing
moments in time through my eyes and sharing them with others.
Capturing the everyday beauty in this world that is often taken
for granted is something that inspires me. Revealing the truth of a
moment in time is something that can’t be replicated, even by the
same person in the same location with similar lighting, it remains
truly unique. Through my work, I try to preserve something that
captures my attention and makes me want to look at it over and
over again, not only as a reminder of what it looked like, but the
way it made me feel.
This body of work represents Mississippi and Michigan, two
geographic locations with a lot of history. I originally perceived
these two places to have many distinct differences, but found that
they are also similar in more ways than one might think.
