Patellar Dislocations : A Review and Case Study
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to fully investigate every aspect of a kneecap dislocation/subluxation and what an athlete can expect if he or she endures one of these injuries. First, the general anatomy of the knee will be discussed. Next, mechanisms of injury as well as predisposing factors and symptoms of patellar dislocations will be discussed. Then, how a doctor diagnoses a kneecap dislocation will be examined. Finally, treatment options for a dislocated kneecap will be assessed.
