The present study examined the combined effects of PECS and picture schedules on the independent interactions of preschool children with ASD. The applied behavior analyst technician and behavior analyst used PECS whenever target students began to struggle or appeared to be on the verge of emotional outbursts. Frequency and duration of inappropriate social behaviors (e.g., tantrums, aggression, avoidance behaviors) were recorded and used as a means of measurement.
