    Abstract
Genome engineering is the process of making targeted modifications in the genome. This has become the basis in which DNA alteration can be explored and manipulated. A new form of genome engineering known as clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) has recently emerged and grants the user the ability for specific target cuts in the genome like never before. This technique was used in this study to investigate and knockout a protein sensor known as UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase (UGGT) .
