The process, which refugees undergo in efforts to flee their countries, has attracted the attention and action of the international community. Two agencies, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and the International Rescue Committee, both under the authority of the United Nations, have been at the forefront at facilitating the transfer of refugees and providing of humanitarian aid. The United States of America, being a strategic and essential international player, has found itself in the battle of the refugee crisis. In fact, the case has been associated with the illegal and undocumented immigrants in America. This is what has led to the establishment of the San Francisco Bay Area refugee camps. Having the opportunity to collaborate with refugees made this experience extremely memorable. These refugees have gone through a lot prior to their arrival to the bay area and one of the IRC's mission is to facilitate their process of resettling by providing them with helpful resources. The input and collaboration of the refugees that I worked with enriched my findings by allowing me to enter into their world by sharing their heartfelt stories and journeys with me. Their gratitude towards the IRC and its workers truly demonstrated the effectiveness of organizations like the IRC.
