Abstract
The current study's purpose is to examine the significant role of self esteem in the lives of adolescent females. The focus is on the examination of the impact of a particular adolescent development program on the self esteem and empowerment of a group fifteen participants in the Girls Empowering Together (GET) Program. In order to
accomplish the goals of this study, interviews were conducted with thirteen of the fifteen
participants of the GET program. These interviews w~re conducted in order to gain
insight on their initial interest in the GET program, how the program impacted them, and
their suggestions for improvement. Their responses were examined within the theoretical frameworks of Rosenberg and Baker Miller's Relational Cultural Theory. Analysis of the girls' responses proved that the GET program was quite successful in building the participants' self esteem and empowering them to recognize their leadership capabilities.
