dc.description.abstractThe author examines the Hump Airlift to provide supplies Nationalist Chinese and Allied troops fighting Japan in Southeast Asia in the early 1940s under the command of General William H. Tunner. According to the author, the better known Berlin Airlift of 1948 was successful because the Hump Airlift was successful and the basic formula for efficient, effective airlift operations had been pioneered by Tunner in Asia.en_US
