Stability of Emotionality Assessed in Ages 3-7
Abstract
In the last decade, there has been a growing amount of literature which focuses on
temperament. Much of this literature has included·the use of models, in order to gain a more
clear understanding of the individual, as well as the greater masses. In this longitudinal study, the
purpose was to examine the stability of temperamental traits across children from 3 to 7 years
old. The traits that are monitored are components of Positive and Negative Emotionality. This ·
exploration of stability is evaluated through laboratory-assessed tasks as well as through parent-report
questionnaires. Results are inconclusive, due to the ongoing continuation of the study.
