Abstract
Current precedent setting actions taken by the Federal Reserve Bank allowed
America to deviate away from potential economic collapse and advance toward
economic stability in just four years. Although many are a little skeptical of
central banking, historically monetary policy has proven effective in increasing
the longevity of economic expansions and decreasing the longevity of economic
recessions. Along with advocates, such as Ron Paul, stressing Fed transparency,
Fed policymakers adequately promoted economic growth and steered America
clear of a deep recession by trading off the value of the USD and commodity
prices.
