Abstract
Football, or Soccer as it is known here in the United States, is truly a global game. Interning with the San Antonio Scorpions, the author was able to experience and contribute to a new organization during their inaugural season. His unique position as both an employee of the Scorpions and a fan of the team allowed him to see what factors permitted the organization to achieve as much success as it has. Through observation and research of other sports organizations, the author notes that achieving success on and off the field can be extremely difficult, however, the San Antonio Scorpions are an excellent example of an organization that has done both so far in their first season.
