Abstract
Most people in the sports medicine field realize that sports concussions affect an extremely large number of athletes each year, but until recently not many professionals have considered which age group is most negatively affected by them. A high school soccer player who sustains a concussion may have a completely different return-to-play timetable than a college football player or a 12 year-old hockey player. The symptoms may be completely variable in intensity and time experienced, and it may take much longer for a particular group to recover to the point of original baseline scores on neurocognitive tests.
