The author interned with environmental artist Alan Sonfist and painter Suzanne Joelson. The author titled the show fambul, which means "family" in Krio, a West African Creole language to represent the interaction of forms, shapes, and ideas, and the juxtaposition of elements in the paintings. The short stories and poems are included.
