Abstract
This paper details the continuously changing landscape of the online poker world. From its creation to a six billion dollar industry, online poker shocked the gambling world and revealed great detail about the passions of Americans. However, this essay is not intended to describe the characteristics that make online poker so attractive to millions. Instead, this study examines a greater question of exactly what course the online poker world took in its infancy years and how this ultimately leads to its downfall. Through careful examination of major events during the existence of online poker, one can see exactly gives online poker its appeal to millions and its dismay to the federal government.
